i think the name sums it up.

i completely agree with bulldoghopeful, there were like 4 kids at my school who SCEA'd to Yale and ended up matriculating at Harvard...i'm so worried that it will hurt my chances =/

Does EA mean if you fail you can't re-try again later in the normal round?

Yeah. But you can get deferred, which is basically the same thing. In the early round, they have the option of accepting, denying, or deferring you. The first two are straightforward, and the last basically means they'll tell you their decision on april 1st.

That being said, I think it's time I got taken off of the list, given that I started the MIT EA thread. :'( Goodbye friends. (I'll still be applying regular decision, just I decided that since my school never sends students to Yale and since I want to be able to apply to a safety or match early as well.. Mit is a better choice.)

To answer eating food's question: no, I wouldn't. I'm EAing Yale because I really want to go to Yale. I'm not applying to Harvard at all regardless of the outcome of my EA decision. Sometimes people apply to colleges because they love the school, not because of its name. How weird is that?

Our Apps are due in... 5 months, 1 week, and 2 days. I remember my first day of 3rd grade and I'm about to apply (and get rejected from) college. AAAAHHH

areyouserioussss- I don't think eating food meant the question in such a literal way- imagine Yale didn't have an early action program and another school high up on your list did- what would you do?
No one said anything about name/prestige he probably just used Harvard b/c the post before his mentioned Harvard.

You're so witty! But don't take what I was saying the wrong way, kmatimber2 had a better grasp on the meaning of my post.

Uhhhh let's count down something a bit more interesting! How about the day we get DECISIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

classof09 - you will be missed

Yeah that's a good call. I dunno, I guess I'm just used to people on CC being obnoxious prestige-hungry jackals. My fault. I totally deserve your reciprocal nastiness. The names Yale and Harvard carry a lot of baggage in my head I guess.

Counting down to decisions is still a really long time... plus we don't know when they are exactly (aren't they "the week" of December 15th?)

Has 11 years of high school actually gone by?! The nerves are starting to fire! I'm so excited and anxious. Good luck to everyone come December 15th! (By the way, my b-day is on Christmas and if I got rejected (i'll bounce back, of course), that'll probably be the worst b-day/christmas of my young life!--but an acceptance will definitely make that b-day one i'll never forget!...so, only happy thoughts for me!)
