| Anyone apply to Eli Whitney Program at Yale? I applied, got a call that they have all my materials, and am now wondering what the process is. Would love to hear from anyone else who has applied either in the past, this year - any experience at all with this program. Last I talked to them they were missing a Recommendation, so I faxed it over, and my App should now be complete.
any info? thks! |

| Arabella, I applied this year as well. Unfortunately, I do not have any insight to offer you as this is my first time applying. It would be nice to hear from someone that has gone through this process in the past. Best of luck to you! |

| Good to hear from you. Have you cured cancer? Are you an Olympic athlete? Actually, trying to get a feel for who others are that have applied. I've not done any of those things. Have been out of school a while, returned last fall and worked the last 15 years. So, I submitted one personal, one professional and one academic reference, with my current transcript, and past transcripts from high school, and previous college experience (when I first attempted but didn't complete).
Do you want to share any info about yourself? When do you think we will hear something about interviews? I tend to think they'll call in the next week, or so, since they said something about scheduling for the last part of May and the committee meeting early June.
Good luck to you, too!

| I think the process is competitive. There were 18 students admitted last year (don't know how many appied). The Taliban guy got rejected though, so at least you know one thing that adcom might not like in your application. And there must be even more applicants this year, because financial aid was extended to Eli Whitneys. Would be nice to see someone from the adcom here on the thread, but I guess it is just impossible. By the way arabella265, if you want to have a look at the profiles of some Eli Whitneys of 2007, click here Yale Daily News - Eli Whitney review nears completion |

| Hey, thanks - yea, there just doesn't seem to be a lot of info out there on what you need except some generic stuff. So far I've found two other people who have applied and that's it. I'm sure there are more out there ... It would be great to hear from someone who's got some experience with the program.
The article was helpful and the number of admissions, too. I hadn't seen that. Thanks! |

| Not a problem So the last week of May is approaching. No news yet? I do not think they are scheduling interviews in the last week of May though, the website says the selection committee meets in the first week of June, so that is when you are supposed to be expecting a call for an interview, I think. Or do they interview a selected number of applicants after shoving off some portion of applicants even before the adcom will have a chance to have a look at their applications? I thought the adcom decides who needs to be interviewed. |

| Here is excerpt from the FAQ section on Yale.edu:
"After we have received all of the required documents from candidates (normally late May), the Director of Admission will determine which candidates will be asked to come to the Admissions Office for an interview and further consideration."
Which means the Director of Admission will determine which candidates will come for an interview after info collection phase (normally late May). My admission fee check cleared yesterday, does that mean they finally received all the checks and supporting documents? They do not have my TOEFL yet, and it is going to take another week until it becomes available. Worried, a bit |

| I think they do an initial review, then an interview (supposedly in May) and the thing in June is deciding who gets admitted. As far as I can tell the applications are still being reviewed. A couple of us have called and been told our file has not yet been reviewed. Did you apply? I sent you a PM, as well. Good luck to you! |

| Impossible to get in. Also rejected. Got the interview, but think it mattered not. The program is tiny and doesn't seem Yale really wants much of a program - collectively about a dozen students total now. Appears Yale doesn't really want a non-trad program, just wants names and stories it can publicize as attending. |

| Yea, I had an interview, too. Was told there are only 10 students in the program now. Accepted 2 last year and 2 the year before. Not gotten my official rejection yet, but anticipating it ... ouch. |
