| Magi, the last generation of transfer students was very well integrated into Yale. We are also still in touch and good friends with one another! We were really hoping to make your experience that much better, though - we miss out on freshman counseling and orientation stuff, and there should be a way to address that within the transfer program. But besides that, you'll find Yalies are an extremely friendly and social bunch, and absolutely nobody will think twice about you being a transfer asides from being a little more curious about you.
They will explain the degree requirements once you get here, as transfers have it a little differently; we actually get off easier by not having to fulfill every requirement in strict order (but otherwise, the req:s themselves are the same).
Transfer credits are VERY generous. I still ended up a year back, but probably because Dean Cutler thought I would enjoy having some more time here (she outright suggested to another of us that he could discount some courses and be a sophomore instead). Don't worry about that part a bit. |
