- Senior Year Course Load: multivariable calc, chem AP, lit AP, APUSH, experimental research and design, French 5AP, statistics, economics
- Major Awards (USAMO, Intel etc.): I guess these weren’t really major but I’ll include them anyway. NJ Science League Biology I 3rd in state, team ranked 2nd in state; NJ Science League Physics I 3rd in state, team ranked 7th in state; NJ Science League Physics C 4th in state, teamed ranked 3rd
Subjective:- Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis): grade level council (class rep grades 9,10), all school council (treasurer grade 11, VP grade 12), action against hunger (treasurer grade 9, VP grades 10 and 11, president grade 12), school chapter REBEL (VP grade 10, county rep grade 11, senior advisor grade 12), county REBEL (county rep grades 10 and 11), state REBEL magazine (senior editor), jv tennis (co-captain), varsity ultimate (team manager), Peer leader

- Teacher Recommendation: outstanding, I thought this was the strongest part of my application.
- Counselor Rec: good, we talk every few days so she really knows me.
- Interview: on-campus with a girl who went to nj gov school for science too. I think I expressed my enthusiasm for yale; I sort of teared up during it. But it was only half an hour and I forgot to talk about a lot of my ECs, I only mentioned one, oops. Too nervous, I guess. All in all, I thought it was okay, not great but not terrible.
Other- State (if domestic applicant): NJ
- School Type: public
- Ethnicity: asian
- Gender: F
- Income Bracket: about $200,000
- Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): none
Reflection- Strengths: recs, essays, grades, independent research, independently studying French literature
- Weaknesses: SAT I/ACT essay scores, forgot to say a lot of things in the interview, no national awards, nothing that really stands out in the yale applicant pool
- Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I have to admit, I thought I’d be accepted. Oh well, just way too many qualified applicants I guess.
General Comments: Good Luck RDers and everyone who was deferred!!
