Woo-hoo!

Though living in L-Dub will be interesting, at least Saybrook will feel insanely spacious next year.

It's called the "Saybrook Strip" and it's initiated during the 3rd quarter of every home football game...i'm not sure if it still occurs

If it doesn't, I'll be sad.

As for Saybrook niceness...it's one of the original colleges on the Campus (with Branford), so it's got that wonderful old feel. But, it just got renovated in 2000-2001, so it's got all the great new fixed-up stuff.

And according to one of my suitemates, they have Happy Hour every Friday. I'm happy already.

I talked to a college mom (one of the REALLY knowledgeable and involved ones) whose son is in Morse...she said Saybrook would be her first choice. I can't wait! Anyone going to the cookout this week? (I'm not)

I would go if I weren't 800 miles away from New Haven.

Something about the community and cool traditions coupled with the nice Gothic college.

so... has anyone gone to lengths to describe the LW dorm space? I'd like to know how small these rooms really are, so that I don't overpack.

Somewhere I heard 9' by 7' but I think the doubles are in actuality 9' by 11'...that is what my suitemate suggested. He got into our room a few weeks ago, here are some pics:

With all this discussion of how great JE is on other threads I'd like to know...what are some great things about Saybrook besides the strip (It's all the newspapers seem to talk about) and the weekly happy hours? (though I do admit...those are pretty great)

I think the bedrooms are 9x11 and the common room is 12x14.

Thanks for the pictures -- nice to finally see the inside of one of the rooms.

From the letter the Dean sent us, it says bedrooms are 7' by 11' and common rooms are 12' by 16'. However, I've heard that some bedrooms are significantly bigger than the others.
