Vanderbilt Floor Plans

Has anyone located floor plans for Vanderbilt anywhere on the web? I have been searching, but some of you seem to be almost mystical in your ability to locate the arcane.

The closest thing can be found on the Berkeley College website, which has Vanderbilt floor plans for the top floor and basement because that's where I'm guessing annexed Berkeleyites live.

Vanderbilt

I lived in Vanderbilt last year (BK side). I might be able to answer any questions that you have. Yes, the fifth floor and basement house annexed juniors. Also, know that the layout for the fifth floor and basement is completely different from the layout for the freshman housing.

Hey BKCat. I'm going to be living in VE42 next year, and i was just wondering if you knew anything about that room or any in the E entryway (spec. is there room to debunk beds and do they have closets or wardrobes). Thanks a ton!

Vanderbilt E-42

E42 is a great suite! It's a four-person suite with two bedrooms and a common room (like most suites in Vanderbilt). Entryway E is, in my opinion, the best entryway in the BK half of Vanderbilt, but maybe I just think that because that's where I lived last year. Each floor of E has between eleven and fourteen people on it, possibly including some freshman counselors. Speaking of which, be very excited about that, because the freshman counselors for BK 09 are great! The freshman counselors live on the second and third floors of E. In any case, Entryway E is the largest of the three BK 09 entryways, so it's a bit easier to meet people.

The fourth floor landing of E gets a bit warm - it's actually a big runnning joke, because as soon as you take the second-to-last step up E, the heat hits you. The rooms, however, are fine as far as temperature goes. Your suite is right in front of you as you reach the top of the stairs in E. You enter the common room, which is very large and has wood trim, a fireplace, and a large window seat, and look out on Connecticut Hall and the rest of Old Campus. There is a door on the right and left sides of the room, each leading to a double. I actually don't remember if the girls in E42 this year had their beds unbunked or not. Some rooms in Vanderbilt allow you to debunk the beds, but the majority have bunked beds. Some rooms in Vanderbilt have closets, and some have wardrobes. I don't remember which the rooms in E42 have, and its possible that one has a closet and the other a wardrobe.

Let me know if you have any more questions about anything!

Vandy/Berkeley

Congratulations to all of you - my daughter was in Berkeley, and the Vanderbilt dorms are phenomenal. Wood panelling, windowseats, mock fireplaces...certainly not your average freshman dorm room. Berkeley is also a terrific college. You've won the lottery.
