Woth it to apply?

Hi, i was just wondering if i should even apply to such a competitive school as yale with my current stats. i did try to find chance threads similar to mine, but came up short. any input would be great Thanks!
SAT: 2090
Math-760
CR-690
W-640
ACT:30 (retaking to hopefully get 32-33)
E-34
M-31
R-28
S-27
SATII:Chem-740 MathII-750 USH-730
GPA:3.92 UW Rank: Top 8-10%
APs Taken: Psych-5 Human-5 US-5 World-4 Lang-4 Chem-4
Taking 7 APs next year.
4 years on varsity for Cross country and Track (Captain as well)
100+ Volunteer hours

so should i apply? What about for other top schools (ie Northwestern.) Would i even have a chance? Im actually really stressing out about this, so any help would be awesome.

Are your CC times competitive for college level? Have you spoken with the coaches there?

I think you could try Yale if you wanted, but it's probably a pretty big reach (unless if you can boost your SAT reasoning significantly). Definitely try schools like Northwestern b/c you probably have a good shot since you do have some leadership, good volunteer hrs, and decent SAT & ACT scores (plus, they're obviously not as selective as Yale).

if you're looking at top schools at all, you really need to boost your SAT 100-200 points.

You need to look elsewhere other than Yale.

No i havent spoken to the coaches. I have made somewhat recognizable achievements (like county team, been in many newspaper articles and such) but im still not 'recruit material' i dont think.

Check out the Hispanic Students subforum (under College Admissions), lots of good information, including a thread from last year with stats and results.

You can't get in if you don't apply. I don't see any reason that you shouldn't go for it; your stats, especially as a URM, are competitive (although it would definitely help you to raise your SAT/ACT scores).

Not necessarily, all URMs are not automatically given a boost in test scores and the OPs SAT/ACT are at the lower end of the 25:75% range. Other factors such as SES, academic opportunities, overcoming obstacles, HS attended, etc. are also considered.
