July ACT in NY, elsewhere?

Typically, the July ACT doesn’t take place in NY state. And at the moment, a July ACT isn’t even listed as a test date on ACT’s website.

A parent whose student I work with has registered her son for the July test in NY state. It’s being offered at a location about two hours from where my student lives, in a pretty rural location about an hour from the closest city of any size. I have seen the student’s registration. Does anyone know what the situation is elsewhere? Is ACT offering a July test at select locations?

My D is registered for ACT in July in MN. Several locations were available when her June ACT was cancelled. Normally, I don’t think a July ACT is offered around here.

My D was registered for June in NYC and it was canceled. ACT sent an email saying we could re-schedule for July but of course, the test is not offered anywhere near NYC in July. I have tried multiple times to change her test site for July to somewhere far upstate or western Pennsylvania, but the ACT website is blocking this for some reason. I don't know if the website is intentionally restricting us or if it is some bug they are unaware of. So no luck here. I am SO done with the ACT. What a poorly run corporation. No wonder the CEO just resigned. I would not be suprised if the company folds in the next 12 months.

My D21 is scheduled for July ACT in Michigan. Hoping to get this one in since she was originally scheduled in March, then June. Not feeling too optimistic.

I am cross referencing July test sites against those that were cancelled in June and now need to find out if those test sites offered the June test in the first place. Any idea how? I'm in NY and finding lots of sites open in NC, PA and a few in VA.

Appelrouth had a google doc on their webpage with all the test sites that are open in June, sorted by state. I can't link to it, but a simple google search should turn it up.

That's interesting, but are you sure that the ACT website is allowing you to change your test location for July? Because we are blocked from registering for a July test location that is hours from where we live (even though the ACT's website shows seat availability at those sites), even though our June test was canceled. Also, the ACT is no longer answering their phones. We are completely stuck.

When the April one got cxed, we booked for July in NJ. July Act was not offered in NY at that time. So we picked NJ ( 1.5 hr drive, not a big deal we thought) June was still booked then.

So rather than trying to change the June date, why don’t you book the July ACT? If June doesn’t happen, they will reimburse our money. So it’s not wasted. Try doing that way and maybe it will let you book.

And yes, I’m so done with this ACT, why can’t they even let the kids know some dates in the future? Like the aug sept oct dec SAT dates? So much confusion and at this point I just want them to be done with this.
