SAT II Math vs ACT Math

Hi,

I am wondering how the SAT II math section compares to the ACT math section for those who have taking both. From looking at some samples question the college board website the SAT II obvoiusly looks harder. I also understand that it has an easier curve. How difficult all are the questions though, do the first 10, 20 or 30 questions compare to the first 30 questions found on the ACT math, or is every question on the SAT II math around a level that is comparable to the last ten or so math questions found on the ACT. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Sat math II requires you to have more outside knowledge. I don't remember there being as many geometry questions, and if there were any, they could easily be solved using trig. There are a fair amount of trig on the math II, but also less word problems. Overall the test are pretty similar, 60% are really easy and straight forward, and the rest are average. Mainly a test against time.

In terms of difficulty of material/questions

I understand that the questions on the test are harder.

What I am essentially wondering though, is how the easiest questions compare between tests.

If SAT II math questions increase in difficult like the ACT Math questions do, then are there 10 or 15 or 25 questions on the SAT II that are at a similar level to the first 30 questions on the ACT(or maybe none?). Or do the least difficult questions on the SAT II Math 2 correspond more with the 40-60 or 50-60 questions on the ACT, and the harder questions on the SAT II are way harder than anything on the ACT?

I assume we're talking about Math IIC and not Math I

Anyways, the first 30-35 questions or so on the SAT II Math is about how hard the ACT Math will get by its last two or three questions. The last 10-15 questions on the SAT II Math will be much more difficult with one or two of these questions plug-and-play calculator types for easy answers if you know what to do. Take both and see, then take them again...if you haven't already? Hope this helps!

Thanks, that helps a lot. And, yes I was talking about Math IIC

My last question for anyone would be what their act math score was vs their sat math IIC score if they took them both.

    Thanks again.
