Not sure where to post this, or if anyone cares, but I know I would have appreciated more of these my senior year in high school.
Asian American male; no hooks; pacific northwest; public HS
GPA (U/W): 3.9 / 4.4
ACT: 35 - 35E/35M/33R/36S
SAT: 1520 - 790M/730E
SAT II Math 2: 800
SAT II Physics: 770
SAT II Spanish: 760
Class Rank: top 10%
IB Diploma; 16 total IB courses; 7 total IB tests; 6's or 7's on all tests taken before senior spring
- multiple years of calc; many years (8+) foreign language; physics, bio, chem etc.
More notable extracurriculars:
Varsity Athlete (team sport) - 4 years; regional champion; top 10 nationally
- solid D3 athlete, but not at D1 level
Research Internship at local (regionally ranked) university
- published a technical report for the department of civil and environmental engineering and made a contribution to the state department of transportation
Spanish language tutor
- also counted as community service; sort of an outreach thing, helped out at disadvantaged public middle schools through my spanish immersion program
And that's about it. I never won any major distinctions or had any incredible EC's, and on top of that I applied in STEM for the majority of my choices. I am happy at my current school, and I applied to many of the schools I applied to just to see if there was any chance for me. Looking back, I wish I had known not to get my hopes up too high (which is why I am making this thread).
