Early Acceptances for an Average Student

Hi! I'm just sharing these for those who are like me (not the cancer-curing ivy student). I know some have done similar threads in the past so I just wanted to contribute to the general hoard of CC's knowledge. I'll probably post a new one when I get my RD decisions. Let me know in the comments if you have any questions!

Stats: 1400 SAT (superscored), 4.2W, 3.6UW

Safeties:
Depaul University- Decision: Accepted, EA, $24,000 per year, Honors College acceptance, Major: Film Production BFA, found out on November 14
Temple University- Decision: Accepted, EA, OOS, $9,000 per year, Major: Journalism, found out on November 23
Drexel University- Decision: Accepted, EA, $31,600 per year, Honors College acceptance, Legacy (stepdad and his dad both went), Major: Film Production, found out on December 16

Matches:
Emerson College- Decision: Accepted, EA $10,000 per year, Major: Political Communication, found out on December 13

I'm probably not going to go anywhere for Film Production (that was more of underclassman me's dream). I'm looking more into the Journalism/PoliSci route now, so of these Temple and Emerson are my top choices.

According to your post you don't look average to me but above average. Congratulations!

@Sarrip Thanks! I guess I'm just average in comparison to people on here and at my school. My rank kinda sucks and our valedictorian (as of now) has a 4.8 gpa.

Stop comparing yourself to others. There is more to life than GPA and rank. I bet you have gifts that some of the others do not have. My DD20 does very well in school however the most important thing to me is her character. The truth is I am a professional and in my work place there are many highly educated people who lack manners and social skills. Not saying that there aren't highly educated people with admirable qualities but it's all about balance. I have recently been in the position to hire a few people and my approach is to not just hire people who have the experience but who have the character where they can work as a team, can get along with others, treat others well and have a positive attitude. If someone has the right attitude I don't mind training them. Good Luck to you and keep your chin up.

@Sarrip Lol I'm not really worried about comparing myself to others (as much as a teen can be). I mostly just said "average" so future non-T50 seniors can see a thread that's geared more towards them.
