I plan to take the SATs for the first time in April and the ACTs in June. For SATii, i've decided on taking Literature, U.S. History and French sometime before november of next year.

Obviously, my grades were not so good freshman year, but i keep improving year after year. I know Amherst is a hufe reach for me, but do i have at least a decent chance? Thank you for your feedback.

Will you earn your Gold Award? That is a huge accomplishment and would improve your chances at any school. Geography will also help. What state are you from? Keep up your grades and prepare for the SAT's - they will be a major determinor. You have a chance. You won't know how good until you apply. Any elite school is a crap shoot. Really work on your essays. When my D received a phone call from the President, he had read her essays, and referred to them. Show interest - go visit.
