"Dr. Drew," the host of Loveline, a late night hysterical talk show that plays at least in Southern California, if not elsewhere, went to Amherst.

The Da Vinci Code was basically written as a movie, and not very good quality in a novel format. It really probably wouldn't have made as good a movie (one of the few I've ever though surpassed the book) if he wrote it. There's no meat. It's like bad chick lit (don't get me wrong, not all chick lit is bad) but not just for women. So I am not at all surprised that Amherst doesn't like him much. Honestly I'm surprised he got in.

On another note, I grew up in Amherst and Uma Thurman babysat my older brothers while my mom was working for them developing a website.
