well this means the language in the letter this year is different from what they said last year. The letter last year stated that 75% of the students who attended the diversity open house and applied were accepted (everyone's application fee was waived from the open house.

just found out i got in today! yay!

except i have prior engagements planned for the 29th...I had assumed I wouldnt get into DW especially since i sent in my application on the 21th

Does anyone have a schedule that tells them when the events start on Saturday? I'm hoping if they're few, I may be able to fly in early sunday morning instead... =/

How do they pay for your travel expenses? Is it reimbursed or do they send a free one? For yourself or also a parent/guardian?

I was surprised that I got it because 1) I MAILED it one day AFTER deadline, 2) the mail came back to me because I was missing 15cents (I was thinking, are you kidding me?!), 3) I'm an Asian (I didn't know Asians are UPMs?!) 4) mine probably arrived REALLY late 5) my SAT scores were really bad...

But I think my essay, ECs and GPA made up for it. =D

To all those who do not get accepted to DOH - if you are interested in Amherst, you should still apply. I know of 2 Amherst students who were not accepted to DOH but who did apply regular admission and were accepted.

i'm going to the october one. and to whoever asked about the percentages, the letter they sent out with the schedule of events said that over 85 percent of those who go to diversity open house chooses to apply, and 75 percent of those who apply ultimately get accepted.
