Can you retake AP's?

Hello everyone, I am in Honors Chemistry right now, and I am considering self-studying for the AP Chem Test, so that I do not have to take the class next year. 1. Is it possible to get a 5 with 4-5 months of studying? 2. If I get below a 5, can I retake it and use my new score?
