self studying AP courses

I'm going into my sophomore year of high school and I'm wondering how hard it is to do self-study for AP exams. I was thinking of AP Human Geography, AP Microeconomics, AP Psychology or AP Computer Science (not all at once). If anyone has experience in these courses, how difficult are they? And how does self-studying exactly work?
