IB Architecture Requirements

SportyVaVaSportyVaVa 0 replies1 threadsRegistered User New Member
I wanted to know if I should take full IB to get into a university for architecture or just take IB certificates of Arts and Math?
I also wanted to know what were the requirements for architecture just in general?
Thank you!

@SportyVaVa The study of architecture is a broad field and there's no simple answer to your question. Unless you have in mind a specific degree from a specific school of architecture and know its admissions requirements, you should take the more conservative approach and get the full IB.

First, you need to decide whether you are interested in getting a 5.0 year professional Bachelor OF Architecture degree. Or a 4.0 year non-professional Bachelor of Arts or Science IN Architecture plus a Master of Architecture.

At most (but not all) BArch programs, applicants are evaluated by the architecture school's admissions committee. Their requirements or recommendations, which may or may not include a portfolio, can be found on the school's website.

At most (but not all) BA/BS architecture programs, applicants are admitted to the university as a whole, not directly to the school of architecture. Applicants are evaluated by the university's admissions committee and need to follow the general admissions recommendations. Again, see the university's website. A few BA/BS programs require a portfolio, but most do not.
