Any ASU students here?

I completed my online apps to ASU and UA, as well as a few other out-of-state schools just recently. I've already been accepted at ASU and the application process was very efficient and organized.

I had the exact opposite experience with U of Arizona. The online app had tons of computer glitches and the admissions office was unhelpful, whether through online chat, e-mail, or phone calls. The solutions they offered to me to solve the glitch weren't logical, so eventually my parents called. They were even puzzled. After considerable trouble, we managed to finish the online app with the help of a college adviser who intervened. My close circle of friends have also had the same experience. In fact, two of us, as well as my parents, have been treated rudely over the phone and found the UA staff, both working students and employees, unknowledgeable and very confused.

I hate to make a choice on a school based on the admission office alone, but right now if I stay in state I'm leaning towards ASU for this reason, at least for now. I'd love to hear from students regarding your personal experience with ASU. Thanks.

OMG, hilarious that you mention this, ecoaz! My experience with UA's website, as well as with calling them on the phone, has been exactly the same! It has made me wonder who's running the asylum over there in Tucson, whereas things with ASU have gone smoothly and professionally. I almost get the feeling that UA exists in some kind of a time warp--their technology and employees haven't seemed to be part of the present decade, in my experience. As you say, however, it seems unwise to make a decision based on this limited experience, so we'll be visiting both schools in the near future. Enjoyed your comments, though!

Same here, we are out of state but found ASU to be extremely efficient and organized. Just had to put in a few questions to my sons advisor and immediately received the answers through email...very efficient...make me feel good knowing he will be so far from home...pretty sure ASU is going to be his first choice.

ASU actually called our home to make sure a transcript request had been submitted from my son's high school. They had his application, sat scores and had been waiting 3 weeks for transcripts. That was impressive. A huge university that has budget constraints due to the economy and we are getting a call from them. He has since been accepted and we are planning the visit.
