Swim Set Ideas

I am training individually for swimming and have some sets drafted but it would be really helpful if you guys could through some ideas out there so I have some variation in my practices.

I am primarily a (distance) flyer, so please try to keep that in mind. You don’t have to include warmup (if you want that’s cool too) The length of the workout is up to you. I can decide intervals or you can place them and I modify as needed. You can throw a main set, primary set, drill set, kick set, etc. Any and all is appreciated! Thanks!

@hopefulswimmer58 How many yards/meters are you swimming now? Are you training in a SC meter, SC yard or LC pool? Did you just start back, or have you been training through covid? Are you college swimmer home for the summer or a rising college freshman without a USA club? I assume you want a mix of IM, Free, sprint and distance sets? I'm sure I have 100s in my files, but it would help to know your current level of stamina.

Not sure specifically about distance fly but swimswam publishes daily workouts.
    I’ll link (I think) today’s set: https://swimswam.com/daily-swim-coach-workout-138/
Maybe check out the other ones and you might find a distance fly that matches your current fitness level.

SCY, have been training for a few weeks now, used to do 7,000-8,000 yard practices but the time I’m allowed in the pool is reduced because they just began opening, so around that distance may be too long. I’d say around 3,000-4,000 yards. I can always modify, so don’t be too worried about specifics! Thanks!!! :)

@hopefulswimmer58 no problem. Message your junk email address, and I can send some. I have several jpgs; no offense, but I'm not retyping them, lol. Most of them are for level 1 masters (masters national swimmers, age 40+; AGs are usually written on the boards, but us "old" people need print outs, lol). The intervals are probably closer to a level 3 AG swimmer (A-ish times), so you can adjust them down accordingly if you're a AAA/AAAA swimmer. Are you already in college? If so, many USA clubs have college groups or masters, although the workout times are usually 5AM.

@hopefulswimmer58 just messaged you where you can find several of the workouts on a public platform, no need to email/message. Good luck!
