    Hi ilovepyrs,
Thanks for checking in. It seems like the domino effect of people accepting admissions, getting off of waitlists, and so on, is peaking about now, so maybe something will open up at the first choice. I think you're right to let the coach know how much she would love to be there. He can keep bringing her name up in admissions with more effect than anything you can do. Sending calming, hopeful thoughts your way...

Just wanted to add a word of encouragement. My S's friend just heard this week he was accepted to a school and on the team. Again, it was one of those late recruiting stories--he actually visited and applied a few weeks ago. So it does happen!

Thanks for the update, we are still pulling for you both! I have also seen several late in the year recruiting situations that worked out very well for the athlete, so have faith!

Thanks everyone!!! no news yet, she has apps in at 4 additional schools, and yesterday I logged in to the financial aid part of the student website at the NLI school and they had added a $2200 grant to our package. So at least the package is growing, still the big gap, but I am an optimistic person, so I like to see change in the right direction.

^^That's good news, ilovepyrs. Have you let the coach know this is good, but not enough? Maybe he can continue to look for $...

Hi Riverrunner, yes, I did speak with the coach this week at length. Told him she is looking elsewhere and he understands. She is looking at D3 schools now for a number of reasons, mostly because these were schools she was interested in, in contact with last fall, and that would look at her app this late, so it is not really a match from his point of view D1 vs D1.. if you know what I mean.
But to your original question, the day I spoke to him, he told me that he had called FA for me the day before, so he is still working for our daughter. I think part of it is the school, just not that much $$ for him to get his hands on. IDK. I really believe him so that is all for now. I hope he can make something happen.

Hi all, tiny update: of the 4 late apps that were read for our D, she got her first acceptance letter today!!! Yay! FA pkg not ready yet, but at least she might have another place to go and she heard yesterday from another university that she was on the waitlist. Still in the waiting game for the $$$, but when you are putting apps in at schools without rolling admission in mid May, it is so exciting to get in, and she is happy too. Just waiting for 2 more, and hopefully the first choice school of these 4 will work out. That would be so ideal, but anyway, thought I would share this with anyone who cares.

where ever she lands it'll be the right fit. I believe most kids end up exactly where they belong because of the admission and/or recruiting process, smooth or bumpy like you've experienced, all good in the end.

OK People, taking a sec to update again, she has received two packages that are unbelievable. LIke, incredibly generous, 3x the package she got from the NLI school!!!! We are so lucky. money is not an issue, she has two great places to go (waitlisted at first choice of the 4 apps put in) dropping everything to go see the one school tomorrow and soon we will have a decision. Called the FA liason at the NLI school, told her about the packages and could they match them. the thing is -after the S**t they have put us through, and the beautiful packages we were presented, it makes the school look not so good in my daughter's eyes. she has definitiely soured on it, so we will see. toodles

So happy for you and your family. Sometimes things really do all work out the way they are supposed to . . . even if it's a little painful in the process.
