I haven't had a chance to visit Baylor so I was wondering what Waco is like? is it boring? exciting? i heard the crime is pretty high but should it be a cause for concern?

The Baylor campus is nice ... and as safe as any campus its size.

There is something known as the "Baylor bubble". Stay within the bubble and you will be quite safe. Venture into the less desirable parts of Waco and your risk rises considerably.

Be aware of it all in advance, use good judgement, and you should be just fine.

My daughter is a freshman this year. We were pleasantly surprised with Waco during move in weekend. We found all of stores we needed: Bed, Bath & Beyond; Target; Office Depot; Lowes; you name it! Also enjoyed some great BBQ at George's and Rudy's and Vitek's. My daughter was also happy to see a Forever 21 not far from campus. Of course, she has been busy with all of the campus activities and clubs that, other than for football games, hasn't felt the need to leave campus, which by the way, is beautiful.
