I want to apply but my SAT score from high school was really bad. My grades right now are very well, I have a 3.91 GPA and lots of experiences. I'm taking the SAT March 14, one day before the application is due and scores are released March 27th. I just do not know if they will accept the score that late. Can anyone give me advice?

Since BC does count SAT/ACT scores for transfers and the fact that yours was "really bad", a retake with a higher score can only help. But take a practice test at home under good test conditions -- or go to your public library when you can sit for four hours -- and see if you can earn the score comparable to incoming first years, i.e., ~1400.

    Good luck.

I always check up on these threads from past years to compare so thank for starting this one!!

Current College: University of South Carolina
    Major: Biology
High School GPA (small private in RI) ~3.8
    ACT: 31
    Applying as a Rising Sophomore
    College GPA ~ 3.6
E.C. - political internship senior year, Capstone Scholar, Academic Superlative Award, Volunteering and Mission Trips from HS, Participation Research Studies and Health Conferences at University, OneLove relationship violence awareness organization

I'm not very confident with my chances but I really want to go back to the Boston Area because of the opportunities in the city (I plan on getting my DPT)

    Good Luck Everyone!

I'm looking to try and transfer to BC, BU, or Northeastern. I had a 3.8 at a private high school and a 3.6 at a private college. I got a 31 on the ACT. What is the likelihood that I get into one of these schools?

    @student937

BU is generally more accessible as a transfer than a freshman from my anecdotal perspective. This would be your best option realistically.

@california203, So, while on the basis of your STATs alone, BC would definitely appear to be a bridge too far, I can tell you that BC did accept a high number of CC transfers in 2018....I admissions is looking to cherry pick CC students, you have a shot. Good luck.

@bbfan1927 yeah BC is definitely a long reach, just applying anyway. By basing on my stats, do you mean just my College GPA or my HS GPA + SAT? I chose not to retake SAT thinking college record would negate the low score.

Your chances seem pretty good. Nevertheless, I am no admissions officer.

For you CSOM transfer hopefuls - As a CSOM minor student, please manage your expectations. Getting into CSOM as a intra bc college transfer is almost forbidden. Last I heard., BC has disallowed MCAS students from transferring into CSOM. I think CSOM only accepts a handful of transfers and that is a big MAYBE..... why? few students drop out. So, please don't be too hopeful, regardless of your stats. One caveat- While I don't have a breakdown, I believe the thumb is on the scale for female applicants, as CSOM is heavily male composed. One other point- you can always get in through the "back door" by applying to MCAS with an economics major. We call that CSOM pretenders....just a little levity. Good luck to all....

How important are Midterm Reports to the admissions process? I did not submit mine ( I have a C+ in Calc II rn :( ) and now I'm thinking that I should do it anyway, even if my GPA is not the best

Does anyone know if the transfer decision will be released before May 31st?

Also, I'd like some thoughts on my chances

I am a female international student, transferring from a California community college, applying for Finance at CSOM. Raised Catholic.
HS GPA: 3.59 UW (specialization in Math & Science), Jesuit education HS
    College GPA: 3.98 UW, 4.01 W
    SAT: 1410 (December 2019)
    TOEFL: 112/120
Experiences: a couple of employments on my CC's campus (bookstore, tutor), a couple of internships related to my major in my hometown (Jakarta, Indonesia) during summer months, VP of an Indonesian club, involved in a community service club (officer position), extensive social work in Indonesia during HS, won an award for scientific research in HS, and a favorite painting award.

I read that getting into CSOM is extremely hard as a transfer student, especially me being international.

Let me know what you guys think :)

Last year decisions (according to the thread last year) were released Thursday May 9th around 1 pm so I'd expect Thursday May 7th this year (either around 1pm like last year or 5 pm from previous years). However this is all guess work and due to COVID things could be different so it's best to stay calm and let it happen with it happens :)
