HI GUYS

So I applied ED to BU, and I would like to know if any current or former students know about the Frats and general Greek life within BU (party, quality of guys etc.) I really like the idea of being within a frat and I would love your opinion :) thanks guys

Hey! Yeah the greek life is kinda meh here. If you're in a frat then good for you it has its benefits :) Some are very hard to get in. Chi Phi had like 50 rushers and only 7 pledged... I personally go to MIT frat parties, which are pretty much on campus at BU on Bay State. They are less grungy and they don't really care about the ratio as much and the brothers are chiller. That's my preference! The US just needs to change their drinking age to a normal one like the rest of the world. I'm an international student and grew up where the age to drink was 16 so this is kind of a culture shock. I never thought I'd be into frat parties, but seeing that Boston is super strict on alcohol its one of the only ways to party if you're an underclassman. The BU parties are often very awkward. If you're not in the frat and you're a male they will charge you $5 to get in. ALSO, they only give alcohol to girls so you have to use them if you want to drink. Kind of ironic that you're paying and they aren't, yet they are the ones being able to drink. You don't need to pay at MIT frats and they even have their own bartenders who make cocktails and stuff free of charge.

That was the general view that a lot of the BU freshman have! Hope this helps man.
