First Quarter Grades

So Im applying to BU early decision and Im required to send first quarter grades of senior year. My first quarter has gone well so for (A in AP physics, A-, in AP mobile CSP, B in AP stats). However, I also got a C+ in AP calculus. How much would this negatively impact my chances. Im applying to College of Engineering.

I am a fellow senior so take my opinion with a grain of salt but I feel like that might not be the best... while AP Calc is a really challenging course, it is essential to engineering. If you were applying to be an English major you may have less to worry about, but seeing that C+ in a course essential to your major might raise some questions. Again, I am not super informed so please don't take this like you won't get in because of it or something like that, but that is just how I interpret it especially because BU's average unweighted GPA letter grade is an A- and you are a STEM major.

No expert here @DeenWho but if I recall correctly, schools get your transcript through end of Junior year and then your college counselor will submit the mid-year report in January. This is why colleges tell students that they should only apply ED if they have a solid transcript through Junior year because that is what is reviewed when ED decisions are made. If you applied ED1, you will get your decision before BU sees your senior year grades. Work hard to get that grade up for the 2nd quarter.

@paveyourpath BU does request first quarter grades for ED1 applicants, and I only found out about this after I submitted my application!! it isn't something they advertise hahaha

Our first quarter grades go out to schools in November. The second quarter will not get there in time for ED decisions. I think you will bo ok, but definitely send them a note explaining your grade

just to give more information, my D is RD and she got her portal up and everything had been received except the list still had 1st quarter grades on it. For her application to be complete, her GC had to send them in. it also instructs that her mid year report be sent after the semester which is standard for rd.
