Will applying early decision give me a better chance of being accepted to a school?

Hello. So I will be a senior in hs in the fall and plan on applying early decision to Boston University. Will applying early give me a higher chance of getting in if my grades are a little low? Also if I don't apply for financial aid will this give me any advantage? Thank you!
