Haha all I know about newhouse is that like some ridiculous percentage of all ESPN SportsCenter broadcasters graduated there..but yeah it is a prestigious communications program. I had a friend from high school who was an intended film major and chose newhouse over everything else.

The CC mantra is "it's all about fit." Both communications schools are great. But where would you be happier? It's awfully cold in upstate New York and Syracuse is much less cosmopolitan than Boston. Internship opportunities are probably better in Boston.

hm.. but what would help in like the long-run?
having newhouse on your resume or more of like the real-world experience with internships? im torn lol :T

This may be moot. Why don't you wait until you have your acceptances and then decide?

i think having internship experience would be a lot better on your resume...both schools are fantastic but everthing is about experience. I'm obviously a little biased being in BU's COM school but I absolutely love it here. The city gives me so many opportunities to work for PR agencies, etc.

Not sure about Newhouse, but you can't get credit for any internships in COM until your junior year. I don't know much about Newhouse as I wasn't pursuing communication schools at the time I was applying, but BU's COM doesn't seem to be very selective and the intro courses make you want to jump into traffic.

^ hahah jump into traffic?? lolol.
maybe newhouse is better despite it not being in a great city.

    any other opinions?

yeah you can't get credit for an internship in com until you are going into your junior year, but most good internships don't let you apply until you are going into your junior year anyway. and if you want to do an internship after your freshman year you can still do it and get connections through BU u just won't get credit for it. i know a lot of people who have had internships without BU giving them credit for it and they just did paid internships instead.
I disagree, COM is selective. and there is one large intro course for each major (ad, pr, jo) and they aren't terrible. i'd rather be in one of those intro classes than any of the huge CAS intro courses.
