My SAT dropped 50 points

flowermoonflowermoon 0 replies1 threadsRegistered User New Member
I got a 1460 on my first try for the SAT back in March. I took it again in August in an attempt to try and at least superscore in one of the categories, and I thought I would so I didn't cancel my scores sends. I just received my 1410 SAT score last night, and I am pretty disappointed and nervous. It is the weekend, so I think it is too late to cancel the scores that I am sending because I cannot get in contact with the College Board. What do I do? Will this affect my chances of getting into college? I am trying to go somewhere like Carolina or Davidson and they will both be able to see that I dropped 50 points on my SAT score :(. Please help!

Relax. Many colleges only consider your best score. You can look at Carolina and Davidson to see what their admissions policies are. Brown will super score, so your first SAT will be used for evaluation.

This year, a lot of kids are just quoting the total score. That's not how top colleges look at it. The individual scores matter.

Make sure you have a better idea how colleges review, what they look for, what impresses, before freaking. But also, before settling on targets.
