Brown is one of the top recruited schools by Goldmann. There are a good number of people who get ibanking/consulting jobs right after graduating with top firms. Google, I don't know if they recruit at Brown exactly, but I do know several recent graduates who got jobs there. I know another who has a job with apple.

Don't know how much internships pay, but some of my friends have had them with Goldmann, Bain, and Pricewaterhousecoopers. They all say it's long hours, hard work, good experience.

For specific questions about these firms and internships, you might get better answers on the internship forum (maybe not...I don't know how active it is.)

The COE program at Brown also has a summer internship program associated with it, that you might want to check out.

It's interesting - the people I know at other colleges would be able to give you "accurate nos", but it just hasn't come up in conversations much at Brown, for me, anyway. Maybe it's just that I don't know the right people, but I think you'd feel out of place at Brown.

Not to burst your bubble but even assuming one were to get say a job at Goldman or what have you, you are being paid large sums of money because you are putting probably 70% of your waking hours at work (if not more). Just keep that in mind.

does it really matter how much internships pay? You will have a hard time making as much money doing anything else as you would with a firm like Goldmann (right out of college, that is), and you will have a hard time getting a position at a top firm without internships, so if you're so concerned with making tons of money right out of college, it shouldn't matter to you how much those internships pay, because even if you will make more during the summer waiting tables or something, that's just some short term gain without long term prospects.

LITS en, cant you just answer the question?
    which part of

" how much do internships pay "

    did you not understand

We don't know, because we don't discuss this very much with eachother, because we are not a-holes. That is not the case at Harvard, and at Penn, and so on - you'll get straighter answers there, probably.

The answer is Brown is not a school of preprofessionals and we don't focus on making money at Brown we do focus on learning-- that's how our educational philosophy is built, that's the way students who come to Brown feel by in large. We are a bit more intellectual than other campuses, quite like say, UChicago and our medical schools is the only "professional" graduate level school.

The other answer is we're top recruits for Google, Microsoft, and Goldman Sacks as well as Pixar. So do CS or econ and you'll find a way.

But to be honest, I don't want someone who thinks like that at Brown and I came to Brown, as many others, seeking to avoid people with that exact attitude. It's not really the kind of place conducive to that thinking or setup to maximize post-graduate profit.

100k out of undergrad, straight salary? Are u on something? I want some if you are.

Um, I'm going to be blunt here. You're being really rude to people who are at least bothering to respond. That's enough to stop ppl who may have the answer from bothering to help you at all.

Now, seeing as how this kind of information is so important to you, you'll probably want to go somewhere where it's an oft-enough discussed topic that someone that knows so much about the college(such as modestmelody) would also know those figures. Obviously, this place is not Brown. You might consider crossing it off your list, simply because you won't be surrounded by like-minded peers.

I only know anecdotal stories, including an english major who is currently making $200k+/yr. But honestly, it's more about who you are and how you can interview when all the major companies arrive on campus, rather than simply what is available.

Blge Bracket I-banks pay 12-15k a summer. There are many kids that get internships at Goldman, Morgan Stanley, etc... All the banks, and consulting firms recruit on campus. Nobody pays a 100k salary straight out. The salary is usually 65k not including signing bonus etc, the money is made in bonuses which are semi annual and vary widely. Brown is well respected in terms of finance opportunities, and there are a lot of students and alumni to network with.
