Hey guys,
I was on sparknotes the other day and it says Brown's average ACT score iis a 26. Now is that an error? Because I plan on applying ED and I have a 28.

Sparknotes gives information on colleges now? That's news to me. Anyway, The Princeton Review (which I would trust more, since this is kind of their forte) reports that the middle 50% of accepted Brown applicants scored between 27 and 33 on the ACT. And it could be noted that last year, they had the average ACT listed at 29.

SAT-wise, the CR middle 50% was 670 to 760, Math middle 50% was 680 to 770, and TPR Projected Range SAT Writing is listed at 690 to 760.

Remember that not all, if any, admissions decisions are based solely on standardized test scores. The admissions office claims that they take a holistic approach to their prospective students' applications, and there's no reason to not believe that. So while a relatively lower-end ACT score won't necessarily block your acceptance, it certainly doesn't hurt to be placing at the top of or above the mid-range scores.

Last year, only 28% of those who were admitted to Brown who submitted ACT scores, scored a 28 or below.

For those admitted for Fall of 2006, according to USNews, the mid 50% ACT range was 27-33 as daveb states.
