I get mixed reviews when doing research, I hear some people can make a good career out of MIS and some cant. I do plan to get interns and I.T certifications.

    No, it has a very high unemployment rate, mainly because most companies are looking for those who have programming experience on the technical side. You are better off doing computer science.
