Does an AACSB accredited school really affect your degree?

edited March 2009 in Business Major
Been accepted to 7 schools, would like to major in business.

My question is does me attending a school NOT accredited by AACSB affect my chances of getting into good MBA programs or finding a decent job after college?

Thanks.

I can't answer your question directly. However, let me share with you an experience with my son.

My son graduatred from an AACSB accredited school with a BS in Accounting, He had about a 3.1 overall. He applied to several graduate programs , one of which had significantly higher average GPA and GMATs scores than my son. The school was going to pass on my son UNTIL they found out that he attended an AACSB approved school. Everything changed and my son was provisionally admitted. Interestingly, he graduated number 1 from his masters program!

I don't know if AACSB accreditation will affect job chances, but it definitely affects admission to graduate business programs for other AACSB approved schools!
