AP computer science credit?

According to the 2018-2019 AP Examination Credit from CPP website, the AP Computer ScienceA only gives 3.0 credit for Elective, and shows None under "Cal Poly Pomona Course Equivalencies"
What does this mean?
If my son is going to be Comp Sci major, does this mean he doesn't get any credit for in CPP CS course even if he passes the AP Comp ScienceA?

Thanks for your help!

He gets elective credit toward the completion of his degree which can be used to fulfill a non-major elective class but he does not get credit for any CS courses or allows him to opt out of any major classes. If he is signed up for the exam then he should take it.
