How is the Masters in Computer Science program?

I'm planning on doing a MSCS program in California and was interested in Cal Poly-SLO. How is the program? How are the employment prospects? What other programs in CA should I be looking at?

The MSCS program at Cal Poly is good, but from the CSC majors I've talked to, Cal Poly is better known for their undergrad program. That being said, it's kind of a what you make of it situation. Cal Poly does offer a lot of great opportunities for CSC in both the undergrad and grad programs. A lot of people on the CS masters program at Cal Poly are getting their masters through the school's 4 + 1 combined bachelor/master option for computer science. Employment prospects are quite good. A lot of big tech companies recruit from Cal Poly, such as Amazon and Microsoft. I also know people who graduated with comp sci degrees from Cal Poly, bachelors or masters, and got jobs at Google. Really it comes down to how good you are at what you do though, Cal Poly, or any school for that matter, provides you with extra knowledge and a foot in the door through career fairs and such. As far as other programs go, Stanford is pretty well known for their computer science masters/Ph.D program, UC Berkely is also worth checking out, as well as Cal Tech.
