Biochemistry changes major to chemistry

I am incoming freshman. I have realized that chemistry is more likely what I want to learn. What will be the chance for me to change major?

Additionally, what would be the differences between biochemistry and biomedical engineering. Does biomedical engineering study theories too? Or just get to application field from the beginning?

Thanks a lot! XD
