Computer Science vs Software Engineering?

I'm almost done with my early decision application but I'm having trouble deciding between CSC and Software Engineering. I know how the flowcharts work for each one (and I'm siding with computer science based on that) but I'm wondering if there's a specific major that's easier to get in to. I know that it's relatively easy to switch between them and I really want to increase my chances of getting in. Will choosing either one affect my chances of getting in?

From my research for my son, whom applied last year for SLO, Software Engineering is considered an easier major to get into, however; they accept less applicants into this major versus CS, so I think it really is a toss up on your chances.
