HELP! ENGLISH majors who've taken ENG 145!

So I rented the textbook (which was listed on PASS) Elements of Argument, eleventh edition, by Rottenburg, on Amazon. It was way cheaper, but while I was reading the preface I noticed that it has an online installment called Launch Pad solo that it says teachers use to supplement the textbook.

Problem is, I rented and I don't have an access code or anything! It even says in the book that students who rented are going to have to buy the online package separately. If I had just bought the textbook I would have saved more money.

DO WE USE THE ONLINE INSTALLMENT FOR CLASS? CAN I BENEFIT FROM IT??? Thank you so much to anyone who can help me out, even if it's not the news I want to hear!
