Hello, fellow CC'ers. As a Junior on the college search, I was wondering if you guys could help me out. I'm OOS for UC's. Thus, they are all around 50-55k for OOS. My parents are willing to pay 20-25k for my education. What are the chances that I get atleast a 25k scholarship at UCSD, UCI, UCD, and UCSB. Thanks a ton in advance!

There will be approximately 50,000 applicants to each of the campuses you list, and many of them will be as qualified as you or more. The most prestigious scholarship at a UC is the Regents scholarship. Sample amounts for the Regents are below.

The UCD Regents scholarship is $7,500/year.
    UCSB's Regents is $6,000/year.
    UCSD Regents is $8,000/year.

So there is an approximate 0% percent chance that you will be awarded a $25,000/year scholarship by a UC. If you were a nationally-ranked or Olympic-caliber athlete there might be a higher chance, but you do not mention that in your resume.

Out of state applicants to the UC system need to remember WHY the UC is turning to out of state students: You are a source of FUNDING. The UCs want out of state students for the $$$ they will have to pay as out of state students.
