Most Beautiful Cal State Campus

In your opinion, which is the most beautiful CSU campus and why? I don't want to hear CSUX because I go there. Please give good reasons and examples of why you think so. I would like to also hear from people who have visited multiple campuses to base their opinion. Here's my incomplete list to get started. I will update with votes as they come.

1. Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (1)
2. Cal Poly Pomona (1)
3. Humboldt State (1)
4. Chico State (1)
5. San Diego State (1)
6. Sonoma State (1)
7. Cal State Long Beach (1)
8. San Francisco State (1)
9. San Jose State (1)
10. CSUN (1)
11. Cal State Fullerton (1)
12. CSULA (1)
13. CSUMB

Personally I like both Cal Poly's but can only speak for Pomona. It was the orignal summer ranch for WK Kellogg. It's a very green campus surrounded by hills, trails, Arabian horses, a Japanese garden, a duck pond and green pastures. A few historic Spanish style buildings dating back to the ranch days. The few drawbacks is the urban isolation and the large freeway.

    Campuses I visited:

    Cal Poly San Luis Obispo
    Sonoma State
    Cal State Long Beach
    San Francisco State
    CSUMB
and one you forgot: Cal State Stanislaus

I think that the most beautiful of those campus is Sonoma State, the campus itself has a mixture of different things that they pull all together very nicely. It has some modern buildings, lots of trees, lakes, and grass areas, the housing blends in with the campus giving it a comforting feel. The whole place is like i giant park! (It kind of makes you want to have a picnic). The surrounding area isn't the best looking town (somewhat bland and ordinary), but the campus really makes up for it.

Of course, beauty is all in the eye of the beholder! All of the campuses had there good and bad points and they were all very different.

I love Cal Poly Pomona [my school ;)], but I've got to give it to San Diego State core campus. I love the old, Mission-revival architectural style they've got down there. They should have built the rest of the campus with that architectural style in mind, but the high-cost of construction materials probably forced them to go with something more modern (and ugly). Still, the core campus at SDSU gets my vote!

I've only been to CSU Chico and Humboldt, and Humboldt is by far the nicest campus. You can't beat those redwoods, they are captivating.

I've visited Fullerton, Long Beach, Northridge, San Jose, Los Angeles, Dominguez Hills, Monterrey Bay, San Luis Obispo and Pomona. My vote's for Pomona. I like the park like tranquil setting, views of the snow dusted mountains, the CLA building, horse ranch and hikes in the Voorhis Ecological Reserve behind the campus. Can't beat the setting of San Luis Obispo, but the campus could use a little better planning. Disclaimer, I also went to Pomona.
