ED II Essay

I posted an earlier thread on this but no one replied. When you apply ED II, is your essay written only about your top choice school? Can you apply to other schools that you can be considered for during RD? If you're rejected from your top choice are you considered for any other schools in the RD period? Thanks and please respond!

I think we answered this or perhaps another poster with the exact same question.

You need to write an essay that answers the question-- telling adcom why you want to study/research etc. in the chosen field of study. While you may not be a double major--as an example, it will not make sense to apply ED to CIT and then list InfoSys as a second choice if your essay has nothing related to sharing your experiences viz a viz that secondary choice. The essay should make sense why you are interested in all areas that you want to be considered for in the application. But if you apply ED, that's one essay-- and then you could turn around and reapply RD to another school (at least that was the case last year).

Are your first and second choices related?

My first choice is SCS and my second choice is CIT, but I thought since you can only apply to one school early, I was supposed to focus my essay only on my first choice. I guess not then. Thanks!
