I couldn't see myself at any school other than CMC. The people are so amazing... students are constantly doing outstanding things like starting companies (serengetee.com). The people here are all super ambitious but collaborative. What this means is that you will never be chastised for having dreams. Rather, people will work with you to make your dreams come true.

The culture here is one of a kind. We have a work hard, play hard mentality that only few other top colleges can match (A Dartmouth comparison comes to mind). Indeed, students here love socializing as much as they do obtaining job offers or acing classes.

We are preprofessional in nature. The college doesn't attempt to be a 'traditional' liberal arts college. Rather, we are dedicated to creating leaders in business, government, and the professions. Such focus on the public and private sectors has allowed CMC to carve a niche out for itself in these fields. At CMC, you will obtain a liberal arts education that will serve you in the real world.

The professors are all amazing. Like at most liberal arts schools, teachers here are given tenure based on their ability to teach a class... not do research. As such, we have amazingly smart professors who are willing to spend time with students outside of class.

The Ath! Where else could you have dinner while sitting across the table from Anderson Cooper or Mitt Romney four nights a week, every week of the academic year?

Claremont McKenna truly is an amazing place. If you are an ambitious high school student who wants to make a difference in the world by being a leader, apply to CMC! We'd love to have you.

I hear a lot about how collaborative it is -- it seems like with that level of students, especially those who want to be leaders, you would hear the opposite/how cutthroat it is. My high school is not at all cutthroat even though we are all (well, mostly) competitive. But is with ourselves and not each other so it is nice to hear a college can be like that. How are the dorms? I didn't get to see a dorm room when I toured, but would love your take. (We had the BEST guide ever and he raved about the food.)

The dorms are, in my opinion, pretty nice. As you may know, the dorms are located in three locations: South, Mid, and North. North is known as the party area, mid as the freshman area, and south as the more reserved and quiet area. In terms of the quality of the rooms, they are fairly spacious. I believe that the mid quad dorms are going to be renovated soon. I enjoy the dorms a lot and they are much better than some of my friends' dorms at other colleges.
