Applying to Clemson?

My son will be a senior in HS next year, and has talked about applying to Clemson. We live in NY, and he is unsure of his major, and is interested possibly in med school, later. I have read through a lot of the posts, and was wondering if anyone has the time to give us some opinions, information, anything of interest. This forum is really a good way to familarize yourself with the school, outside of their own website.

Thanks a lot.

ddotjon, I'm not exactly where to start with your post but I'll leave you some youtube videos to introduce yourself to the school. I'll direct message you my email, feel free to email me anytime if you have any specific questions about Clemson! I've been here 2 years now and I absolutely love it.

Here's the admissions video that can give you a lot of the basics you need to know: YouTube - What's it like to be a Clemson Tiger?

Another great video: YouTube - The Clemson Experience

Considering Clemson is a great choice! I will be heading to Clemson this fall as a freshman. Clemson consistently ranks well. According to US News, Clemson ranks #62 out of every national college. The Princeton Review ranks Clemson #1 for happiest students, #20 smoothest run college, #1 Jock School (sports), amongst a plethora of other positive rankings. The campus is beautiful, and there are many opportunities to be involved in a positive atmosphere. Clemson is very well known for their undergraduate program, especially in the sciences (which is great for your son since he's considering med school). Clemson would look great on any graduate school application. If your son's involved in sports, Clemson's also ranks in the top ten according to The Princeton Review for atheletic facilities and intramural sports. I can't say enough about Clemson! I'm so excited to attend there this fall.

I applied to ETSU (full ride), Mercer (almost full ride), Furman (1/2 ride), Emory (waitlisted), and UNC Chapel Hill. Although I didn't receive much aid from Clemson, I still feel really confident I made the right decision.
