Demographics: white middle class female from a rural area in the Midwest. Currently attend a boarding school

Intended majors: political science/international relations, Spanish, computer science?

SAT: 1540 superscored (770 EBRW, 770 M), highest score w/o superscore is a 1500

took the APUSH exam and got a 4, school doesn’t offer APs

W GPA: 4.18 (school doesn’t offer UW or rank)

Coursework: took all the honors classes or college level (school’s replacement of AP) courses I could, did well in them

Awards: National Merit semifinalist, got an award for the best junior in the school, Harvard book prize, U of Rochester Young Leaders Award, 7th place in a statewide writing competition, 3rd place in a schoolwide scholarly research paper contest

Extracurriculars: currently student body co-president, class president for the two years before that, prefect (like an RA) for junior and senior years, editor for the school paper for the past 3 years, head stage manager, studied abroad in the summer between sophomore and junior years (6 weeks), tour guide, analyst for the Student Investment Committee

Essays: Common App essay is probably about a 7/10. I think it’s pretty good but I know people on this sub like to exaggerate how good theirs are.

LORs: I can’t read them but I’m confident they’re good.

I already submitted my application because I had the Common App done and there are no supplementals.

There is nothing that should get in the way of your being accepted. Being from the MidWest could help (especially if your BS is in the MidWest). It is also one of the few LACs that gets more applications from boys than girls, so that could work in your favor.

Colby had an acceptance rate of under 10% last year, so nobody is really a sure thing. But I think you have a reasonable shot. If you would be interested in starting out in Salamanca, you could let them know. (Honestly, not sure how that impacts admissions or the experience freshman year, but worth knowing if it seems interesting. )

Thanks for replying, @gardenstategal! My boarding school is in the midwest, if that matters, and I indicated on my app that I'd be cool with doing the Global Entry Semester.
