How will my bad mid year report affect me in college admission?
I've already got accepted to one university
how often do college rescind acceptances?

It depends on the school and how bad the semester was. Did you fail anything?

same boat. 2 "D's" on my first semester. I hope they don't rescind my admission.

Some schools put more emphasis on mid-year reports than others. In any case, as long as you haven't received any "F"s you should be okay. I'd take this as a warning, however, that you should set aside any thoughts of senioritis until after your final exams for second semester. Colleges can rescind based on mid-year and full-year reports so it is best to keep working hard until you've crossed the finish line.

UC's usually spell it out pretty clearly in their admission letters. Dropping below 3.0 over two semesters, sometimes one, sounds right.
