What would you say is the average grade for General Chemistry classes?

I'm a biology major in my second semester of junior college and hoping to transfer to Texas A&M after my fourth semester and eventually plan on going to dentistry school. Last semester I got A's in General Bio, English, and College Algebra, but I got a B in General Chem and had a 3.71 GPA after my first semester. It looks like so far I'm on my way to making a B in General Chem II aswell. My teacher said there was about a 60% drop rate for the class, so I guess a B isn't that bad. What would you say is the average grade because I really want to keep up my GPA?
