Applying August 1

If I wanted to apply August 1 (the first day the Apply Texas app opens), would I need my transcripts and recommendation letters? I don't see a slot to put them in on the preview, so would my school automatically send them? Does my school also need to send them on August 1? The reason I want to send in my application so early is so I have a good chance of getting the housing I want. I would I already have my essays/short answers done.

The college won't penalize you if your school does not turn in your transcript and letters of rec at the same time as your application. I'm not sure why you would rush to complete your application the day it comes out, but it would be fine if other materials are sent in later. The housing will be there after the first day. You should have your counselor review it before you send it in.
