Success Stories for Test Optional Application Strategy

Looking for success stories for those who have decided not to take the SAT and applied to test optional schools only. Please provide details regarding your strategy, the schools you applied to and which you selected to attend. Did you interview or what do you believe set you apart by not taking the SAT. Also, do you believe that it could have hindered financial aid chances by not taking the SAT. Finally, feel free to share any things to watch out for and any other advice you'd think would be useful for someone taking this into consideration.
