Applied two years ago - documents still kept by the colleges?

While I'll mostly be applying to the ones I did not apply two years ago, a few of the ones I did apply to at the time are still on my list. I know that colleges keep the rejected folders for two years, but does that mean they will still see it when I apply this year? Do you think they've already thrown out the files?
