Hello all, starting a thread for any potential Colby college ED applicants. Only a few days until decisions... has anyone else applied? I feel like it’s such a small application pool

Hey Guys! I heard that the acceptance rate does not go up that much when applying ED becuase of the already approved athletes, is that true? Super nervous.. good luck!

You are right. The acceptance rate is deceiving because of the athletes. My hunch is that it may be just a hair easier ED because when they are looking at RD candidates, they have to fill out the class around the ED students.

I have no way to gauge how large the applicant pool is...other than no one has mentioned ED 2023 on CC until now whereas other prior years they started earlier and were fairly well populated. Guessing e mails go out on or around fri the 14th..similar to last year...

Not specific here but one of the guidebooks last year put RD @ 17% and ED @ 31% for 2016.Apologies that I do not have the source...

Yes, eliminating supplemental essays and application fees will increase applicants. Will be interesting to see the numbers this year after announcing test-optional status in September.

He has been a dynamo for sure. Doing everything possible to increase accessibility.

I have heard that too. Although they are more likely to admit people if they have demonstrated interest, and ED is the epitome of that

Been looking at Colby for several years now for 2 S's and that rings true .Also, we notice that the avg. SAT scores of course have climbed significantly.. They nonetheless now more than ever seem to take a well rounded and holistic approach with admissions.
