Are upward trends In a class you failed positively or negatively?

I failed one semester in math freshman year and one in sophomore year. I passed the last semester of sophomore year with a 80. If I get between 85-90 through junior year and senior year would this be viewed positively or what this hurt my admission chances so bad that I would be declined.

Disclaimer this is not a repetitive post I just need to know how failing a class early hurts admission chances and if I have time to make up for this bad class.

How selective of a college are you aiming for? An upward trend is always viewed positively, but not as positively as a four year record of consistently high performance with increasing rigor.

Will your transcript show semester grades or just final grades? If you passed the final grade, they won't even know if you failed a semester.

Regardless of the advice you gain here you can only control what you can control. Do as well as you can now to show colleges that you are ready "now" for college. There is a section on the college app to explain away anything or your counselor can put something in your report to the colleges about your upward trend.

The first semester of sophomore year I got a 75 and the second I got 90 these were my overall grades. So you can see my upward trends. Both my algebra and geometry regents I got a 75

So a rising junior? Sounds like you're growing. We cant promise anything, at this point, but keep doing your best and, one way or another, this will work out.

Don't get too overly analytical, yet. Best to you.
