Online Classes to Boost Application: Is it a good idea?

Hello. I am currently a sophomore and aiming high to get into Ivy League and other prestigious schools for Computer Science. I am currently taking cs50x Harvard online course on edx, and I was wondering if it boosts my application to have taken online college classes. Do I need to pay the $90 to have it verified for colleges to take it seriously?

Is this a non-credit class and the $90 is for certification for this specific computer skill? Then pay the $90. That certification could well help you get a better paid summer or school year job.

As far as I know, no one will ask you for your certificate. That being said, it might be useful to have.
